Acrobat Connect (Hosted) FAQ

• What's happening to the service?
• I already subscribed for a year of Connect service. Can I get a refund?
• Is ConnectNow the same thing as Connect?

• I followed all the steps and have a ConnectNow meeting room; why are only two people allowed to enter the room?

A. As of June 15, 2010, the Adobe Acrobat Connect service will be discontinued. If you have a Acrobat Connect account, please refer to the following Adobe Knowledge Base article for instructions on how to close your account before June 15, 2010.

The new generation of on-line meetings service, ConnectNow, is for small and medium sized business or small groups in larger organizations. We recommend transitioning to ConnectNow, part of Acrobat.com's suite of online services. For information on ConnectNow and the free or paid subscriptions, please go to www.adobe.com/acom/connectnow.

A. Please contact Adobe Customer Service to request a refund for the unused portion of your annual subscription, at 1-800-833-6687, option 3. You will need to have your Connect account information at hand, as they need to verify your identity and subscription information.

A. The two online meeting services are similar. ConnectNow offers screen sharing, chat pods, shared whiteboard, and webcam support. You will also find other features in ConnectNow to facilitate your online meetings and demonstrations. For larger capacity meetings, e-learning or e-seminar uses, there is Adobe Acrobat ConnectPro. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro

A. If your meeting name, found in the URL http://connect.acrobat.com/[name], is available, you may apply it to your ConnectNow account. To change the meeting URL in ConnectNow, launch your meeting room. Then click on Help and select Account Settings. You'll be prompted for your password. The settings panel will appear and you can then change the meeting room name and save the changes.

A. Unfortunately, it isn't possible for a payment for one subscription to be transferred directly to another; when you sign up for a new account at Acrobat.com, it will be a free account by default. If you need a meeting room with a capacity greater than three, you will have to upgrade your Acrobat.com account to the level of service that best suits your needs, and this upgrade will be a separate transaction from cancelling your Connect account or creating an Acrobat.com account.

You may upgrade your Acrobat.com account from the default free level to either Premium Basic (for a 5-person conference room) or Premium Plus (for a 20-person conference room). The transaction and subscription process at Acrobat.com will be entirely independent from the original subscription to Acrobat Connect.

A. Free teleconferencing will not be included in ConnectNow, due to changes made by the third-party vendor providing that service. ConnectNow allows you to use the microphone and speakers in your computer for audio portions of your meetings.
