This article describes common Macromedia HomeSite 5 and Macromedia ColdFusion Studio 5 installation issues and solutions.
After installing on Windows 98, the following error message occurs when you attempt to start the application:
Exception EOleSysError in module Homesite5.exe at 000875A5. Class not registered.
Note: The error message will refer to the ColdFusion Studio executable instead of the HomeSite executable.
Solution
Component: Program Files File Group: SSLFiles File: <svSharedDir>Error: This filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
When starting the application, the splash screen shows it is an Educational version, even though you purchased a full license version.
Solution
Contact Customer Service with your HomeSite 5 or ColdFusion Studio 5 Serial Number and contact information. Macromedia Customer Service will assist you with getting a new executable.
