When attempting to install Adobe Digital Editions,you mayreceive one of the following errors:
- "Download failed: resolving hostname"
- "Download failed: connecting to host"
This is a known issue with the Adobe Flash Player based installation mechanism used to install Adobe Digital Editions and some proxy server setups. The installer mechanism supports some basic proxy servers, but does not support proxy servers that require authentication or have automatic configuration scripts.
Adobe is considering possible solutions for future releases of Adobe Digital Editions.
To work around this installation issue, download the standalone installer for Digital Editions from "Adobe Digital Editions does not install on Windows or Mac OS" (TechNote kb403051)
