Installing Adobe Digital Editions 1.7 on Mac OS will not remove the previously installed version.You will then have both Digital Editions 1.6 and Digital Editions 1.7 on your machine.

Digital Editions 1.7 is the first version to install as an application to the Mac OS Applications folder. Previous versions can be uninstalled without effecting the Digital Editions 1.7 installation.

To uninstall previous versions of Digital Editions on Mac OS:

From your user directory, open the /Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/open folder.

Drag the digitaleditions1x5 folder to the Trash, and then empty the Trash.

Note: You must have admin privileges to complete this step.

Remove any old shortcuts to "Adobe Digital Editions" in the Applications folder.
