When I export my FreeHand 7.0 files as PDFs using the new PDF writer xtra in FreeHand, the fonts are not included and come out looking wrong on another computer.
Fonts are not currently embedded in the document. The font will be substituted by ATM with Adobe Sans/Adobe Serif. However, the spacing and layout should look almost identical. Ideally Adobe Sans should be substituted for all Sans Serif faces and Adobe Serif for all Serif faces. Symbolic and Script fonts will not be substituted.
If you determine that allowing ATM to substitute the fonts is not an option, then use the alternate means below to generate a PDF from your FreeHand file:
- (Win) Go to File>Print. With a PostScript printer driver chosen, check the print to File box, Print to a postscript file (*.ps), and run the file through Adobe Distiller.
(Mac) Make sure you have a PostScript Printer chosen in the Chooser. Inside FreeHand, go to File>Print and select the Destination- File. Print to a PostScript file, and run it through Adobe Distiller.
