When you use Adobe Drive CS4 or 2.0 mounted volumes and their contents on Mac OS 10.6 or later, the Finder and all other applications become unresponsive. The Finder and the open applications appear to hang or freeze. After time, the computer becomes responsive again.
Uninstall anti-virus or anti-malware applications, and other disc-scanning or indexing applications and services. Add them back one at a time to determine which is causing the issue, and leave that one uninstalled when using Adobe Drive mounted volumes.
This issue occurs on computer that have antivirus or antimalware applications installed. It sometimes also occurs with other applications that perform scans on local drives.
Adobe Drive 1.0 (CS4) mounted volumes are flagged as local disks so that they automatically appear in the Devices section of the Mac OS Finder Sidebar. Therefore, antivirus and antimalware software scans them. (To avoid performance issues, these applications don't usually scan network volumes.) For Adobe Drive 2.0, the volumes are not flagged as local disks, so this problem is eliminated for users on Mac OS 10.5. But on Mac OS 10.6, there are still some occasions when your computer is unresponsive.
If you are experiencing this issue with Adobe Drive 2.x on Mac OS 10.6 with McAfee VirusScan for Mac installed, contact their Technical Support organization.
