Adobe Photo Downloader unresponsive after clicking Choose | Mac OS

Issue

When you use Elements 9 Organizer or Adobe Bridge CS5 or 5.1 to import images, the Adobe Photo Downloader becomes unresponsive when you click Choose to change the Save Location. This issue occurs after you install the Camera Raw 6.5 update, but does not affect Elements 10 Organizer.

Solutions

Solution 1. Update to Adobe Camera Raw 6.6 or later (Bridge CS5 or 5.1 only).

The latest version of Camera Raw corrects this issue. You can use the Adobe Application Manager to install this update, or manually download it from Adobe.com.

  1. In Bridge, go to Help > Updates.

  2. Install the Camera Raw plug-in update.

Or

  2. Download AdobeCameraRaw-6.6-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg.

  3. Double-click the downloaded file to mount the disk image.

  4. Run AdobePatchInstaller to install the update.

Solution 2. Update to Adobe Camera Raw 6.6.1 (Elements 9 Organizer only).

  1. Download:

    * Elements_Camera_Raw -6_6_1-mul-AdobeUpdate.zip
    Adobe Camera Raw 6.6.1 update for Photoshop Elements 9

  2. Extract Elements_Camera_Raw -6_6_1-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg from the downloaded file.

  3. Double-click the extracted file to mount the disk image.

  4. Run AdobePatchInstaller to install the update.
