If you are receiving the following error message while installing the Mac OS version of Adobe Premiere Elements 10, try one of the two installation methods.
Note: This issue should only occur when installing from DVD, if you are installing from a download which was downloaded previously, try downloading the installation files again.
From the trial page, you can download the latest version of the product and just enter your serial number when prompted to convert to a full retail version. Simply download and install the trial version rather than using the installation DVD. When prompted to enter a serial number, use the one from the back of the DVD case.

This method involves opening up the typical installation window, leaving it open, and then running an Adobe Premiere Elements Installer Fix app. The fix walks you through the install process to resolve the issue.
Open the window to begin the installation by inserting the Adobe Premiere Elements Mac installer DVD and double-clicking its icon from the desktop. Or, mount the installer downloaded from the web by double-clicking the installation dmg file (PremiereElements_10_WWEFDJ.dmg for example). Don't start the installation; leave the following window open:
-
Double-click the Premiere Elements 10 Installer Fix.dmg file.
If prompted to open the file, click Open
Double-click the Premiere Elements 10 Installer Fix.app file (as shown in the screenshot below):
Note: The Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Installer Fix requires that the typical installer is open, as shown in step 1. If the installer is not open at the time, the following message appears:
"The Premiere Elements 10 Installer could not be found. Please insert the Installation DVD or mount the downloaded installer image."
The script brings up a dialog box asking you to copy files, click OK
A progress window appears, showing that files are being copied.
Click the Install button to start the installation.
Note: This method starts the installation automatically with an Install button. It's unnecessary to use the standard install icon when installing.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
