Update the International preferences (Mac OS X)

An Adobe application may be unable to detect the language for the operating system. If an Adobe application can't detect the language, it returns an error. When you update the International preferences, Mac OS X creates a new languages preference file, enabling the application to detect the language.

To update the International preferences:

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click International.
  3. Change a Language setting. For example, move a different language to the top of the list.
  4. Close the International dialog box. The UI will now be in the language you moved to the top of the list.
  5. From the Apple menu, choose the System Preferences equivalent.
  6. Click the International equivalent.
  7. Reset the language setting you changed in step 3. For example, move your preferred language to the top of the list.
