If you have multiple Photoshop.com accounts, you can consolidate the contents of each account into a single account for easier access. This document shows you how to you consolidate the assets from more than one Photoshop.com account.

To the top

Before you start

Before merging Photoshop.com accounts, ensure that one of your accounts has enough free space to hold all the assets of the combined accounts. You can see the amount of free space in your account by logging on to www.photoshop.com/account. Additionally, if you use Photoshop Elements, your free space is displayed on the Welcome screen when you're logged in.

To the top

Prepare the account that you want to merge

  1. Go to www.photoshop.com/tools/organizer and log in to the account that contains the assets that you want to move into another account.
  2. Create an album by clicking the “+” (Plus) button next to Albums and selecting New Album.
  3. Give the new album a name that you can remember (for example, Merge).
  4. Move all assets that you want  to merge to the other account into this new album. Press Ctrl+A to select all images, then drag them into the album.

Begin merging

Note: There are two procedures to merge accounts. Follow the one that you find most appropriate.

Photoshop Express Uploader

This technique uses the Photoshop Express Uploader to download the assets of one account and then upload them to the final account.

Note: When syncing numerous images, the process can take several hours, depending on Internet connection speed and hard drive usage.

  1. Download and install the Photoshop Express Uploader from the Photoshop.com Tools page, www.photoshop.com/tools.
  2. Launch the Photoshop Express Uploader and sign in to the account that contains the assets that you want to move into another account.
  3. Select the new album you created that contains all the assets that you want to move.
  4. Click the Sync button in the lower-left corner of the Photoshop.com Express Uploader window. Syncing  begins immediately. The Photoshop Express Uploader copies all of the assets in the album to your local computer. The default location for copied files is:

            Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Pictures\Photoshop.com Sync\[Photoshop.com user ID e-mail address]

            Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[username]\My Pictures\Photoshop.com Sync\[Photoshop.com user ID e-mail address]

            Mac: Users/[username]/Pictures/Photoshop.com Sync/[Photoshop.com user ID e-mail address]
  5. After syncing of that album is complete, go to the sync folder location, and move it to the desktop.
  6. Sign out of the Photoshop.com Express Uploader by going to Settings (the gear icon in the upper right), and selecting Sign Out. When asked if you want to sign in to a different account, enter the account credentials of the target account to sign in.
  7. Drag the folder you moved in Step 5 from your desktop onto the New Album icon in the filmstrip of the Photoshop.com Express Uploader. Type a name for the new album.

Group Albums

This technique uses Group Albums to connect the related accounts. Then, you can copy files between accounts. If your images are in several albums that you would like to keep in the merged account, use this technique for each album.

  1. Log in to the account that includes the assets that you want to move into another account.
  2. Click settings (the gear icon) next to the new album that contains all the assets you want to move into the other account. In the Album Properties window, click Copy Into Group Album on the right side to make the album accessible from your other account.
  3. (Optional) Enter a new name for your Group Album. Click Next.
  4. Enter the e-mail address associated with your other Photoshop.com account (that is, the account to hold the consolidated assets). Click Create.
  5. Close the Express Organizer window and log out of Photoshop.com. Then click the sign-in button on www.photoshop.com and log in to your other Photoshop.com account.
  6. Choose Me > Notifications in the top navigation panel on Photoshop.com.
  7. Find the invitation to the Group album from your other account, and click the Accept button. Click the link to the Group Album in the notification to see the contents of the Group Album that is now linked to this account.
  8. Select all the contents of the Group Album (click the first item, then Shift-click the last item to select all). Then, drag all the photos onto the Everything link in the upper-left pane of the Organizer to copy them to this account.
  9. Once the files are copied, you caclick the ‘X’ next to the Group Album in the left pane to remove the album.

If you want to delete the unused account, post a request on the User to User forum forums.adobe.com/community/photoshopdotcom/photoshopdotcom_general
