Learn how to install, activate, and use Acrobat DC on a new computer or device, even if your previous computer or device is no longer available.

Install and activate Acrobat DC on a new computer

Click one of the options below depending on whether the previous computer on which you were using your subscription is available. Then follow the instructions.

If the previous computer is available

  1. Sign out of Acrobat DC to deactivate from your previous computer.

  2. From your new computer, sign in to your Adobe ID account

  3. From your new computer, navigate to https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat, and download Acrobat.

You can now use Acrobat DC on the new computer or device.

If the previous computer is no longer available

If you cannot sign out of Acrobat DC because the computer or device is no longer available, deactivate the computer or device from your Account page as explained in the steps below. Once the computer or device is deactivated, you are signed out of Acrobat DC. You can then sign in to Acrobat DC using another computer or device.

Deactivate from the old computer and Download Acrobat on new computer

To deactivate the computer or device that is no longer available, follow these steps:

  1. Access your Adobe ID account, and sign in with your Adobe ID and password, or with your social (Facebook or Google) account.

  2. In the Plans & Products section, click Manage plan.

  3. Under Activated devices, click the x next to the device you want to deactivate.

    Screen looks different? In countries served by Digital River, Adobe's e-commerce partner, the Manage plan page looks different and has different options available. After you click Manage plan, if you don't see an Activated devices section, use the following method to sign out of Acrobat DC.

    1. Try signing in to the new computer or device. An error message is displayed, informing you that your activation limit has been reached.
    2. Select Sign me out of all other computers or devices.
  4. Click Deactivate

    The previous computer gets deactivated, and you can now use Acrobat DC on another computer. 

  5. From your new computer, sign in to your Adobe ID account

  6. From your new computer, navigate to https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat, and download Acrobat.
