Acrobat or Adobe Reader crashes after a fresh install of 9.x, 10.x, or 11.x products on machines using Nvidia drivers.

Solution 1

  1. Update the Nvidia drivers on the machine.

  2. Launch the product after the update.

Solution 2

  1. Find and launch EULA.exe separately from the product. For example, the Reader 11.0 path could be C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader.

  2. Accept the EULA.

  3. Launch the product.

Additional information

There is an incompatibility between the product and old versions of certain Nvidia drivers. The issue is only a problem for users with Nvidia hardware that uses an older version of the nvdxgiwrap.dll.
