Adobe Presenter - Embedding Video Footage

Your video format can be ASF, WMV, MPG, MP4, DV, DVI, MOV, 3G, FLV.

Open the PowerPoint and you will see the Adobe Presenter Ribbon

From the Video selection, choose Import

Browse to your video file and select and choose Open

This will take a few minutes depending on the size of the file - remember they are measured in Microsoft minutes. This took 4 minutes to import. Video was about 12 MB.

You will be presented with a Blank Screen

Click anywhere on the page and you will see the picture placeholders appear. This is your imported video file.

Click on Theme Editor

Untick Show Sidebar

Click OK; and OK again.

There are various choices here, please choose My Computer and Choose

Click on Choose; Make new folder and this creates a folder the same name as your presentation, click on the folder name and choose OK

Click Publish

Presenter will very quickly convert the file to a *.swf format and take you straight to the browser to preview.

Note at this point you have only published this to your computer so you can edit things like the sidebar.

You are now ready to Publish to the Connect Server. It is important to note at this point that you must have Author rights on the Connect Server to be able to do this.

Click on Publish; Adobe Connect Pro – click on Edit Servers as you will need to add the URL. Remember you only have to do this the first time.

Choose Add. Put in an appropriate name and add the URL

This then gives you the details you need.

Click on Publish. You need to login to the Connect Server now and choose permissions for who can view this video.

Choose Publish to this folder. NEXT – wait a couple of seconds.

Send out the URL for participants to view.

Save and close the PowerPoint presentation – that’s it!
