Adobe Animate will be discontinued effective March 1, 2026, and will no longer be available on Adobe.com. Enterprise customers can access the application, download their content, and receive technical support until March 1, 2029. For all other customers, technical support, application access, and the ability to download content will be available until March 1, 2027.
Animate has been a product that has existed for over 25 years and has served its purpose well for creating, nurturing, and developing the animation ecosystem. As technologies evolve, new platforms and paradigms emerge that better serve the needs of the users. Acknowledging this change, we are planning to discontinue supporting Animate.
Starting on March 1, 2026, Animate will no longer be available for purchase. Existing Animate users can continue to use Animate. Support for enterprise customers will continue for three years, through March 1, 2029. For all other customers, support will continue for one year, through March 1, 2027.
Access to your Animate files and project data will end on the date that support ends. To ensure a smooth transition, we encourage you to export your Animate FLA and XFL files to other formats such as SWF, SVG, and MP4 before this date.
Customers with a Creative Cloud Pro plan can use other Adobe apps to replace portions of Animate functionality. Adobe After Effects supports complex keyframe animation using the Puppet tool, while Adobe Express offers one-click animation effects that can be easily applied to photos, videos, text, shapes, and other design elements.
Technical support will be available from Adobe for enterprise customers until March 1, 2029. For all other customers, technical support will be available until March 1, 2027.
Yes, Animate will be available from Creative Cloud desktop under Show Older Apps (top right, Profile icon > Preferences > Apps > Show Older Apps). Enterprise customers can download their content until March 1, 2029. For all other customers, the ability to download content will be available until March 1, 2027.
