The manifest file is used by the app to define assets that are used in the app. The manifest file is placed on AEM forms server. The file server location is then specified in the app to indicate the manifest file to be used.

By default, the manifest file is available at the following location:

/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/manifest/lcforms.appcache.

However, from within the AEM forms app, you can specify a different location for the manifest file.

Note:

Manifest file defines assets used in HTML5 forms. You can configure AEM forms app offline service for adaptive forms and form set as described in Working in the offline mode.

Working with the manifest file

The manifest file contains the following default entries:

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/I18N/en_US.js

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime.js

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime.css

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/leftnav.png

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/rightnav.png

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/iEBox_brush.png

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/iEBox_clear.png

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/iEBox_geo.png

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/iEBox_no.png

/lc/etc/clientlibs/xfaforms/runtime/images/iEBox_ok.png

The manifest file contains entries for all the assets used in the AEM forms app for HTML5 forms. This implies that if you create a HTML5 form that contains new assets (for example, an icon), you will need to specify the location of the assets in the manifest file.

In addition, to allow for localization of the assets in the HTML5 forms, you can create multiple manifest files, one file for each locale.

Using custom manifest and profile in AEM Forms app and Process Management

  1. Create a copy of Render New HTML Form in Process Management (System) using workbench.

  2. Open the copy of Render New HTML Form, and specify custom path for manifest file in offlineSpec parameter.

  3. Use this copy of Render New HTML Form instead of original Render New HTML Form, where you want to change the path.

Note:

Creating a copy is recommended. Editing original Render New HTML Form breaks other processes sharing it.
