Version information

Flash Player plug-in

AIR 2.5.1 includes an updated version of the Flash Player plug-in (10.1.102.64), which is used when displaying SWF content embedded in HTML. For more information, see http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/releasenotes.html.

Changes in AIR 2.5.1

AIR 2.5.1 is a runtime-only release

To build Adobe AIR applications, please continue to use the AIR 2.5 SDK. An SDK corresponding to the AIR 2.5.1 runtime will not be released.

To verify that a bug in your application was fixed in AIR 2.5.1, you can install the AIR 2.5.1 runtime and use the ADL -runtime parameter to debug against the AIR 2.5.1 runtime (see Using the AIR debug launcher for more information).

Security improvements

Adobe AIR 2.5.1 includes security improvements described in Security Bulletin APSB10-26.

 * Following issues were resolved in the AIR 2.5.1

Issue #  Title
2716355 Audio/Video buffering: no sound is heard when buffer time is 0
2733926 NetworkInterface not working on HTC Evo
2735761 AIR for Android crashes SwiftKey alternate keyboard
2733965  Ubuntu 10.04 Badge X3 is not working with Firefox 3.6.10
2732127  Unexpected scrollbar is shown when rendering content in FullScreen mode and WindowedApplication.showStatusBar="true"
2736605  2.0.3 injection: Event.Complete is not fired on big files
2674433  StageWebView HTTP URL containing // is interpreted as an SMB URL on Windows
2691505  Voddler: Serious font pixelation using AIR 2.0.3 in conjunction with fullScreenSourceRect
2712261  Incredible GPU: AIR apps using GPU mode hang or behave erratically on the HTC Incredible
2731927  Sound playback is significantly delayed on Android
2727849  Audio clips are sometimes cut off at the end
2735626  Application FoxNewsLive fails to initialize

Known issues

UncaughtErrorEvents

UncaughtErrorEvent listeners will not capture uncaught errors that are thrown from an event listener added directly to the stage.  To prevent an uncaught error from being thrown by such an event listener, use a try ... catch block to isolate any code that can throw a synchronous error. ( 2722320)

openWithDefaultApplication() on Ubuntu

An API call file.openWithDefaultApplication() does not work on Ubuntu 10.10. This is because gvfs-bin is not installed on Ubuntu by default. The workaround is to install gvfs-bin using "sudo apt-get install gvfs-bin". (2744287).
