Question

Understand the vales in cookie column in clickstream data feed

Answer

Cookies column represents if the session cookie (s_cc) has been set or accepted before request is sent. This variable has 3 values: Y(Yes), N(No), U(Unknown)

  • Y(Yes) means cookie has been set.
  • N(No) means cookie hasn't been set. It can be the scenario where browser blocks the cookie or cookie wasn't set by any reason.
  • U(Unknown) means that the check on the cookie wasn't done. The cookie check is only performed in javascript. However the cookie isn't checked for those web sites using Flash data until upgraded to the latest Flash library or if embedded browsers in mobile applications are used.
