When you view specific domains within the referrer type report, there can be search engine domains in the Other websites breakdown.
Search Engine domains in the breakdown Search Engines: The referrer met all criteria to be classified as a search engine, which is the following:
- Adobe recognizes the referring domain as a valid search engine.
- The referring URL contains a keyword query string parameter; in most instances the query string parameter is ?q=.
Search Engine domains in the breakdown Other websites: The referring URL was not identified as a search, though it came from a search engine domain. Common instances of this circumstance occurring originate from various subdomains of the search engine's domain. Frequently, these sites provide more than just search functionality (for example, mail.google.com or autos.yahoo.com). These subdomains do not include a keyword query string, and are not categorized as a search engine referrer type.
