Adobe will stop hosting existing sites on Business Catalyst on June 18th, 2019. Adobe encourages customers to download their data and migrate to other systems well before June 18th, 2019. For detailed how-to information and assistance, see the Business Catalyst FAQ.

This article teaches you how to change the domain name of your site. A domain name is the address you enter in a web browser to access the site. If you would like a unique name rather than the default Business Catalyst name ( you can buy one and set it up with your Business Catalyst site.

I have a domain name that I want to use

After buying a domain name from a registrar, you need to point your Name Servers to Business Catalyst. The process to update your name servers with your domain registrar varies depending on your registrar however the concept is the same. Specific domain registrar tutorials can be found in the section below.


You can refer to your domain registrars help documentation for details on how to update name severs within their system.

  1. Log in to your domain registrars console to administer your domain name.
  2. Look for the DNS / Name Server tools
  3. Replace any existing name servers with the following Business Catalyst name servers:

It takes time for a change to work its way through the Internet. It can take two or more days before you can access your website using your domain name.

Once you have pointed your domains name servers to Business Catalyst, the next step is to add your domain name in the admin console of your site.

Add the domain name to your site

After purchasing a domain name, add it to your Business Catalyst site.

  1. Log in to the admin of your site using your Adobe ID and password.

  2. Do one of the following:

    1. Click Add a domain in the Domain Names section of the dashboard

    2. Select Site Settings > Site Domains and click New Domain.

  3. Enter your domain name in its plain format (without http://www). Example:

  4. Select your email preference by expanding the Advanced section and selecting one of the available Email options.


    All sites redeemed as part of the Creative Cloud subscription are placed on the Web Hosting plan. hosted email accounts are not included in this plan.   5. Click Save.
