Issue

(Lightroom 4 and Lightroom 5) 

When using the Map module, the map area is black and a warning appears:

Map view is no longer supported on this version of Lightroom.

(Lightroom CC 2015/Lightroom 6)

When using the Map module, the following warning appears:

Map view will be discontinued on this version of Lightroom. 

Starting on November 30, 2018, Map view will no longer be supported on this version of Lightroom.

Reason and impact

A change in Map calls has been made.

Impact on Lightroom 4.x and 5.x

This will not be fixed as these versions are no longer supported by Adobe. When you go to the Map module, the screen appears blank and doesn't show any map view.

Impact on Lightroom CC 2015.x/Lightroom 6.x

Starting on November 30, 2018, Map view will no longer be supported on these versions. This will not be fixed as these versions are no longer supported by Adobe. When you go to the Map module after this date, the screen will appear blank and will not show any map view.

Workaround

To see the location of an image on a map, copy the coordinates from the GPS field in the Metadata panel located at the right in the Map module. Then, search for these coordinates on the Internet.
