Acrobat or Acrobat Reader crashes while printing PDFs on macOS

Problem: Acrobat or Acrobat Reader crashes on macOS when you try to print a PDF

Acrobat or Acrobat Reader crashes when you try to print a PDF due to incompatible printer drivers with the latest macOS.

Solution: Uninstall the existing printer driver, and re-install the latest compatible printer driver

Uninstall the printer driver, and then download and install the compatible driver for your printer. Do the following:

  1. On your Mac, choose the Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.

  2. Select your printer in the list, then click the Remove ( - )button. For more information, see Remove a printer on Mac.

  3. To add your printer, click the Add ( + ) button, and then choose your printer from the list. Follow the instructions that appear. For more information, see Update printer software on macOS

  4. Restart your machine after installing the updated printer drivers, and then try to print a PDF using Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.
