With a frame selected, click Import File in the Properties panel and place an image. If your art needs to be resized or has a different size ratio, try clicking one of the Frame Fitting options in the Properties panel for a custom fit.

We tried out a few fitting options, including Content Aware Fit, which uses artificial intelligence to recognize the subject and compose the art in the frame.

Add text in frames and format it. Use larger font sizes and readable typefaces so important text is legible even at thumbnail size.

After you get the basics down, amplify the title with a special effect to make it stand out. We experimented with blending modes accessed through the Opacity section in the Properties panel.

Get more engagement for your eBook by linking to other pages or sites right from the cover. You can link to another page in your eBook; send readers to an external site such as a blog, social post, or website; or even open an email app. To create a hyperlink, select an object on the page, and then right-click and choose Hyperlinks > New Hyperlink.

With your eBook pages and cover ready, choose from several formats such as Interactive PDF, Publish Online, and Fixed-Layout ePUB — and publish directly from InDesign.
