Photoshop’s Content-Aware Fill feature enables better image fill, and Select Subject automatically selects the main subject in a photo.

Use the Lasso selection tool

Open up your image in Photoshop and use the Lasso tool to outline the elements you want to remove, leaving room for nearby color and texture to be referenced for blending the fill.

The Lasso tool is highlighted in the Toolbar next to artwork of a dog standing in a wheat field. Two wheat stalks are selected.

Select Content-Aware Fill

Under Edit, select Content-Aware Fill. Adobe Sensei, our artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, goes to work, analyzing the nearby colors and textures.

The Edit menu shows the Content-Aware Fill item highlighted above artwork of a dog in a wheat field with two stalks of wheat selected
Left side shows artwork of dog in a field with selected wheat stalk; all other elements outside the selection have a green overlay. Right side shows a Preview of the dog in field artwork without the two wheat stalks
