Learn more on how to manage metadata updates in JPG/JPEG files within Adobe Bridge.
Issue
An additional XMP file is created for metadata changes on JPG/JPEG files.
Cause
When changing or applying metadata to any JPG/JPEG file containing Content Credentials, an additional XMP file is created. This behavior change is due to Content Credentials support in Camera Raw release (version 16.3).
Workaround
- To merge the generated XMP in the JPG file, export the JPG images from Camera Raw and apply the Content Credentials option during export. Learn more about Content Credentials in Adobe Camera Raw.
- To stop the creation of the separate XMP file for each JPG, use the older version of Adobe Camera Raw 16.2
