Creative Cloud desktop app crashes when you start it on macOS

Creative Cloud desktop app crashes on launch

When you launch the Creative Cloud desktop app on macOS, it crashes immediately.

To resolve the issue, try the following solutions in order:

Solution 1: Disable Safari Extensions

  1. Launch Safari.

  2. Choose Safari > Preferences > Extensions.

  3. Disable all the extensions.

  4. Launch the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  5. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, go to /Library/Input Managers (or ~ /Library/Input Managers), delete all the content present in the folder, and launch the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Solution 2: Give full permissions to Library folder

  1. In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder and type /Library.

  2. Control-click the folder and choose Get Info.

  3. Expand the Sharing & Permissions section.

  4. Click the lock icon in the lower-right corner. Enter your administrator user name and password when prompted, and then click OK.

  5. Give yourself Read & Write permissions on the folder.

  6. Click the gear icon, and select Apply to Enclosed Item. Close the Get Info dialog box.

  7. In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder, type ~/Library, and repeat steps 2 through 6.

  8. Launch the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Solution 3: Enable and log in as root user

Enable and login as the root user and try launching the Creative Cloud desktop app. For more information, see  Enabling and using the "root" user in OS X.
