After you start the Adobe Creative Suite 4 or Point Product installer a second time, you receive one of the following error messages:

  • "Initializing: Setup Error: Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance. Quit"
  • "Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with install."
  • "Fatal Error occurs"


The Adobe Creative Suite 4 installer does not fully shut down after exiting the installer. The setup remains resident for a few seconds after quitting out of the installation because of a shared technology limitation. Relaunching the installation before the shut down completes will trigger one of the error messages.


Solution 1: Use the Try Again button to restart the installation.

When prompted click Try Again.

Solution 2: Exit the installation, wait 10 seconds and try the installation again.

  1. Quit the Adobe Creative Suite 4 product installation.
  2. Wait 10 seconds and start the installation again.
