Conflicting process error

When you install a Creative Suite product, such as After Effects CS6, you see one of these messages in the Creative Suite installation log file:

  • Exit Code: 19;
  • Payload <AdobeCode> can not be installed due to dependent operation failure;

What do these messages mean? Conflicting processes have prevented the product from installing.

See Solution 1. For silent (volume license) installations, see Solution 2.

Solution 1: Close conflicting processes or applications

Close the processes identified in the following message that appears in the Creative Suite installer:

Please close the following applications to continue:

<list of applications>

Then restart your computer and install the product again.

Solution 2: Configure your silent installation to ignore or disable processes

Configure your silent installation of Creative Suite to ignore the processes that are currently running. See the Creating Deployment Packages section of the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition Enterprise Deployment Guide.

-or-

Before installing the product, disable the processes running in the background. See the Conflicting Processes section of the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition Enterprise Deployment Guide.
