Reason: Chrome browser or CEF does not send the machine ID with the request to connect, and Azure does not allow the request to go through without getting the machine ID.

Solution

Quit Acrobat and try the following workarounds in the order they appear.

Workaround 1: Set the default system browser to be used as the login engine (external browser sign-in)

  1. Open the Run command window by pressing the Windows + R keys. Enter regedit in the Open field, and then click OK.

  2. In the Registry Editor, go to the following location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown

If FeatureLockDown is not already present there, create it as a new key.

  3. Inside FeatureLockDown, create a new DWORD and rename it as iAcroLoginType.

  4. Assign the value 5 to the key iAcroLoginType.

  5. Close the Registry Editor, and launch Acrobat.

Workaround 2: Use the old HTTP calls engine using a registry key

  1. Open the Run command window by pressing the Windows + R keys. Enter regedit in the Open field, and then click OK.

  2. In the Registry Editor, go to the following location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown

If FeatureState is not already present there, create it as a new key.

  3. Inside FeatureState, create a new DWORD and rename it as iNGLCEFWorkflowEnabled.

  4. Assign the value 0 to the key iNGLCEFWorkflowEnabled.

  5. Close the Registry Editor, and launch Acrobat.

Workaround 3: Use the old HTTP calls engine by creating the EnableIEBrowserWF.CONFIG file

  1. Quit all the Adobe applications if any running on your computer.

  2. Navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\Adobe\OperatingConfigs

If the OperatingConfigs is not already present there, create a new folder with the same name.

  3. In the OperatingConfigs folder, create an empty file with the name EnableIEBrowserWF.CONFIG.

  4. Close the folder and launch Acrobat.
