Issue

After you install the Folio Builder Panel 1.1.2 or later, folios uploaded via earlier versions of the panel show articles with endlessly spinning progress bars. Hovering over the articles causes a tool tip to appear which says "Updating Article" but the update never completes. Edits or updates to these articles are not possible.

Solution

  1. Install the latest version of the Folio Builder panel by selecting "Folio Producer Tools <Platform>" from the list of products on this page: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates
  2. Select the articles affected, and click the Delete icon in the bottom of the Folio Builder panel.
  3. Use the Import Articles command to reupload the articles to the server.

Additional information

Using older versions of the Folio Builder panel that are incompatible with the current version of the Digital Publishing Suite server code causes this error. As of version 1.1.2 of the panel, users are no longer able to upload content to the server. Instead, they are told to upgrade their Folio Builder panel and are provided with a link to download the update installer. Upgrading ensures that incompatibility issues like this one can no longer be encountered.

Note: The Folio Builder panel update installers are now separate from updates to the other Folio Producer Tools. Some users are still using applications that have not been updated to be compatible with changes to the folio format. These users can continue to use the older Folio Producer Tools to maintain folio compatibility, while still using the latest version of the Folio Builder panel.
