How to mount CQ5 as virtual repository into oracle Weblogic portal server 10.x

Question

What has to be done to mount CQ5 as virtual repository into oracle Weblogic portal server 10.x?

Answer, Resolution

  • Uncomment the RMI parameters in /server/runtime/0/_crx/WEB-INF/web.xml
  • Start CQ5 from a terminal with the RMI JVM options, for example java -Xmx512m -Djava.rmi.hostname=[HOST] -jar cq-author.jar
  • Configure Oracle Weblogic according the corresponding Oracle Weblogic documentation with the following property values:
    • host -> [HOST]
    • port -> 1234
    • bounding -> crx
    • workspace -> crx.default
  • Copy the following JAR files from the CRX lib folder (..WEB-INF/lib) to the lib folder of the Weblogic domain.
    • jcr-1.0.jar
    • crx-rmi-1.4.1.jar
    • jackrabbit-jcr-rmi-1.4.1.jar
  • Add <enforce-valid-basic-auth-credentials>false</enforce-valid-basic-auth-credentials> as last element of the <security-configuration> tag in the Oracle Weblogic domains config (/config.xml).
  • restart Oracle Weblogic

Note: There is a known Bug in Oracle Weblogic 10.2 (some classes are missing)

Note: It's also possible to use JNDI instead of RMI if both Webapps run in the same SE (see Oracle Weblogic documentation).
