Learn how to resolve sign-in issues when activating or installing certain versions of your non-subscription Adobe apps (such as the Elements family of apps and Adobe Captivate).
Due to changes in the authentication system, security protocols, or backend infrastructure, older Adobe apps may become incompatible with the old sign-in methods. To continue access, you need to switch to a new sign-in method. The following Adobe apps no longer support the old sign-in method. You can reactivate or reinstall them using the new sign-in method.
- Photoshop Elements (versions 2018 and earlier)
- Premiere Elements (versions 2018 and earlier)
- Captivate (versions 5.5 and 2017)
- Creative Suite 5 and later
- Acrobat 11
- eLearning Suite 2.5
- Technical Communications Suite (versions 3.0 and 3.5)
Legacy Adobe apps can't be reinstalled on a new device
To continue using older versions of Adobe apps, users must sign in to activate or reinstall these apps. Follow the steps to sign in and start using your non-subscription apps:

Scan the QR code on the sign-in screen using your mobile device or tablet.

Enter your email address on your mobile device or browser and select Continue.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign-in process.
Once signed in from your mobile, tablet, or browser, you will be automatically signed in to the app on your desktop.
