Following are the answers to questions or issues regarding batch set presets, automated set creation scripts, or set generation.

Yes, you can create multiple BSP recipes and have them all applied to the images uploaded in a given job. It is sometimes necessary to create each recipe separately. See the Help for more information:


Default naming is helpful if you want to create many image set recipes for the same group of assets. Consider building a number of sets with different names and sequences. It's a way to store the base name and match rules so you don't have to re-create them for each Batch Set Preset (BSP).

There are some problems with the SPS Batch Set Preset user interface that can lead to confusing results. IT does not impact the batch set preset, however. In many cases, the user interface can't properly parse the batch set preset that was previously entered. The result at the bottom should be correct even if the user interface components do not properly present it. It was likely it was nicely formatted when the batch set preset was first created.


The batch set presets only apply when images are uploaded. Any changes to the names of assets within SPS doesn't affect generated sets.

  1. Select Setup > Application Setup.
  2. Batch Set Presets > Batch Set Preset.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Name the Batch Set Preset; for example, "Core Set Creation."
  5. Choose Asset Naming Conventions > Custom.
  6. Click Match.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Deselect "View Form" and select "View Code."
  9. Click Add.
  10. Raw code view: ([a-zA-Z0-9]+_[a-zA-Z0-9]+)_(?!sw)(?!SW)[a-zA-Z0-9]*
  11. Click Sequence Ordering.
  12. Click Add.

To run

  1. Select images.
  2. Choose File > Generate Set.
  3. Make Sure "Core Set Creation" is selected.
  4. Submit.
