Why is there a distinction between master and encoded videos in Scene7 Publishing System?

Solution

SPS accepts a number of different video formats, not all that can be previewed in the Flash-based SPS. Master videos cannot necessarily be previewed and published like encoded videos. Flash and mp4 videos are published to the video servers. All other video formats are considered master videos.

Encoded videos are, by default, hidden in the SPS user interface, for ease of use. You can change this setting in the SPS Setup.
