The August 2020 release version 1.9 of Fresco has the following new features and enhancements: 

Brush stamp preview

You can now view the brush stamp as a preview to decide your choice of brush. When the stylus or your finger touches the screen,
the size-and-shape indicator for Photoshop, Pixel, and Eraser brushes shows up.

Brush management

You can now personalize your list of Pixel brushes and toggle Hide/Show to choose the brushes you want to use.

Updated touch shortcut map

You can use the Touch shortcut map with primary or secondary functions to activate Fresco’s most often-used features like Lasso, Fill, and Vector trim.

Support for new devices on Windows

You can now use Fresco with Intel GPU and Nvidia GPU devices that meet Fresco’s specifications:

• Windows 10 version 1903 or later.
• Graphics Processor: Intel or Nvidia GPU with Direct X Feature Level 12.1
  
• RAM: >=8GB
• Storage free space: >=5GB
• Surface Pen or Wacom Pro Pen Stylus.

Additionally, the following AMD GPU devices are supported:

• HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-ee0xxx, 15m-ee0xxx, and 13-ay0xxx (2020 Model) (AMD GPU).

July 2020 release (version 1.8)

The July 2020 release version 1.8 of Fresco has the following new feature and enhancement: 

Clipping Mask

Clipping mask allows you to use a layer as a mask when you have two or more layers to work on. You can use multiple layers in a clipping mask, but they must be successive layers. Layer one works as the mask, where any content in layer two or more, is clipped to what is visible on layer one.

Support for new devices on Windows

You can now use Fresco with Nvidia GPU devices that meet Fresco's specifications with the following HP devices:

• HP Spectre Folio Convertible 13-ak0xxx (2018 Model)
  
• All HP Spectre devices that meet Fresco’s GPU, RAM and HD requirements (O.S.: Windows 10 1909 or later):
  • O.S.: Windows 10 1909 or later
  • Graphics Processor: Intel GPU with Direct X Feature Level 12.1
  • RAM: >=4GB
  • Storage free space: >=5GB
• All Nvidia GPU devices that meet Fresco’s GPU, RAM and HD requirements.

June 2020 release (versions 1.7 & 1.6)

The June 2020 release of versions 1.7 and 1.6 of Fresco has the following new features and enhancements: 

Snapline

Use snapline to make straight lines, or, smooth curvy lines. While drawing with any brush, pause and hold the end of a stroke to snap the line into smoother and stronger shapes. While paused, you can drag to scale, or move to re-orient your stroke in a different direction.

By default, Snapline is disabled. Tap App settings > Input > Touch > Snapline to enable.

Charcoal brushes

You can now find a new collection of pixel brushes that can be used to create beautiful portraits and charcoal-based artwork.

Shapes

Use basic shapes as stamps like circle, square, or polygon, or import shapes from Capture. Some of the operations supported with shapes include Fill, Erase, Create Mask, and Create Selection. Tap the shapes tool icon on the left pane toolbar to view the list of basic shapes and the list of your own shapes from Capture tool.

Multicolor eyedrop

Color swatches in Fresco can be used to add multiple colors so you can paint with more than one at a time using any pixel brush except Sketching and Marker pixel brushes, or Live brush. Make a multicolor swatch using the Eyedropper combined with the Touch Shortcut.

Mixer brushes

Mixer brushes, which are based on Photoshop mixer brushes can be used to blend the colors naturally as you paint.

Touch shortcut

The little circle on your canvas is the touch shortcut which now has a secondary state for vector brushes. Currently, you can use this secondary state to trim vector lines on the strokes. To activate the touch shortcut, double-tap on it twice to activate its primary state. Tap again to activate the touch shortcut in its secondary state.

Vector trim

You can activate the secondary state of touch shortcut and draw once across any vector brush stroke to trim it. Draw back-and-forth across any vector stroke on the canvas to erase it completely.

More keyboard shortcuts

Fresco supports more advanced set of keyboard shortcuts like create a new layer, clear layer contents or lock layer. Use common and consistent keyboard shortcuts across Fresco and Photoshop on iPad.

You can access the list of keyboard shortcuts in two ways: 

• Open a document and tap Help icon at the upper-right corner of the Adobe Fresco workspace and select Keyboard shortcuts. 
  
•  Open a document and tap on the Settings  icon, tap App settings. In App settings dialog, tap Help > Keyboard shortcuts.
  

Velocity taper

Fresco provides advanced controls for each of your vector brushes to taper strokes based on how quickly you draw the stroke. Use the brush settings to customize each of your brush stroke as per your requirement.

Ruler measurements

Fresco now supports Ruler. You can access the ruler by tapping the ruler icon at the lower-right corner of the canvas. Fresco makes it easy for you to draw patterns, shapes, symbols, letters, and so on, with the ruler. You can use the ruler tool in combination with all types of brushes available in Fresco to create artworks. You can use eraser or any brush to create perfect lines.

Import images from Libraries (Windows)

You could always import images, but now we have added support for Creative Cloud Libraries. From an open canvas, tap the image icon in the toolbar and select Creative Cloud to see your assets. 

Support for new devices on WIndows

You can now use Fresco with additional Microsoft Surface, HP and Dell devices:

• Dell XPS 15 9500
• Dell XPS 17 9700
• Microsoft Surface Go 2
• Microsoft Surface Book 3
• HP Pavilion x360 Convertible type devices with different versions
• HP ZBook workstations.

April 2020 release (version 1.5)

The April 2020 release of version 1.5 of Fresco has the following new features and enhancements: 

• Get Photoshop on iPad with Fresco

Get Photoshop on iPad with Fresco

If you purchased Adobe Fresco through the App Store, you now get access to Photoshop on iPad too! When you sign in to Photoshop on iPad you can access all of your Adobe Fresco artwork to add text, adjustment layers, and more. For more information, see Adobe Fresco and Photoshop.

Airdrop to open PSD or PSB files in Fresco

When a file is transferred using Airdrop, you can open PSD or PSB files in Fresco directly. Previously you had to save the transferred file before opening it manually in Fresco. Now, you can skip a step to open files in Fresco. 

Fresco allows you to open PSD or PSB files that are transferred from the Files app, mail attachments, or via Airdrop. If a document is open when Fresco receives the PSD or PSB, Fresco offers to close or save the current document. Once the document is closed or saved, then the original PSD continues to be imported.

Keyboard shortcuts

Fresco now supports keyboard shortcuts. Use common and consistent keyboard shortcuts across Fresco and Photoshop on iPad. 

You can access the list of keyboard shortcuts in two ways: 

• Open a document and tap Help icon at the upper-right corner of the Adobe Fresco workspace and select Keyboard shortcuts. 
  
•  Open a document and tap on the Settings   icon, tap App settings. In App settings dialog, tap Help > Keyboard shortcuts. 

Support for Wacom express keys

Wacom express keys can be used with the Wacom Mobile Studio Pro as well as when a Wacom device is attached to your Windows machine. You can change brushes, zoom, and switch to the eraser using the Express Keys on your Wacom device. 

Support for new HP devices on Windows

You can now use Fresco with more HP devices on Windows: 

• HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-eb
• HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-ed
• HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-ed
• HP ZBook x2 G4

March 2020 release (version 1.4)

The March 2020 release of version 1.4 off Fresco has the following new feature and enhancements: 

• Advanced taper
• New device support on Windows
• UI enhancement

Advanced taper

As a vector artist, you can now control the beginning and end of each vector brush stroke with better refinement using advanced taper controls. For more information, see vector brushes. 

New device support on Windows

Fresco now supports a new HP device,  ZBook Studio x360 G5 on Windows.

UI enhancement

In the Home screen of Fresco, the Gallery name has been changed to Discover. Tap on Discover to access artworks from Behnace.net.  

February 2020 release (version 1.3)

The February 2020 release of version 1.3 of Fresco has the following new features: 

Undo/Redo improved (on iOS only)

To avoid any inadvertent changes to your artwork, you can now disable the undo and redo gestures in Fresco. By default, this option is enabled in Fresco. To disable, choose Settings > App Settings > Input and tap on Disable Undo/Redo.

Clear layer

Clear the content from a layer by choosing Clear layer from Layer Actions.  Clear layer sets all pixels to transparent for raster layers and erases all paths on a vector layer.

This action is disabled for layer groups. Clear layer is enabled in all cases where the layer is editable, otherwise it is hidden. For example, it is hidden when a layer is locked or not visible. For more information, see Layers in Fresco. 

Recolor with the Fill tool

Recolor using the fill tool while preserving the targeted color pattern of the original artwork. The recolor fill uses the existing fill behavior with color tolerance value and enables lock transparency for the fill operation. For more information, see Colors. 

Added erasers

Double-tap on the eraser icon in tool panel to access a set of pixel erasers. Pixel erasers and options appear when a pixel layer is selected. For more information on how to work with the pixel and vector erasers, see Erasers in Fresco. 

Get precise

You can now tap in any direction to move a transform selection in pixel increments using nudge. For more information, see Getting started with the user interface. 

Share a link

When you share a link of your artwork with your peers, Fresco generates an assets.adobe.web.com link. You can share an asset or artwork as a link with your peers to view or download. For detailed information on sharing cloud documents, see Cloud documents.

Import PSB files

You can now import large Photoshop files with .PSB format into Fresco. For more information, see Import and Open a document. 

New tutorials

You can find three new learn tutorials within the Fresco app at Learn > Video tutorials: 

• Make a watercolor painting
• Make a comic-style portrait  and 
• Make an editorial collage

In addition to these tutorials, a new tutorial Introduction to Digital Illustration, narrated in Japanese, is available in the Learn section.

New features on Windows

Here is a list of features that have already been released on iOS but are new in the Windows release of Fresco 1.3:

• Report a bug
• Toggle between Light and Dark UI theme
• Color libraries
• Drag and drop Cloud documents to folders
• Straight edge

Straight edge on Windows

Now, you can draw perfectly straight lines in your Fresco artwork at any angle using this straight edge tool on Windows.

Tap on the straight edge tool on the taskbar in Adobe Fresco to get a straight edge appear in your screen. Use the two finger gesture to hold and move the straight edge in an angle that is required for your artwork. As you rotate the tool on the screen with two fingers, the degrees value of the angle appears on the straight edge at the middle of two fingers so you can check and adjust it as per your desired position and angle. Report a bug on Windows

If you find any bugs while working with the Fresco app, you can now report the bugs from within the app on Windows. 

• Open a document, tap on the Help  , and, tap Report a bug.

December 2019 release (version 1.2)

The December 2019 release of version 1.2 of Fresco has the following new features: 

High-resolution export available with the free, starter plan

High-resolution export of images in PSD, PDF, PNG, or JPG formats were only available so far with the paid subscription of Fresco. You can now export high-resolution images as part of your Fresco free, starter plan. See Publish, export, and share for more information.

Creative Cloud libraries on Windows

You can now use colors from Creative Cloud libraries in Fresco on Windows devices. Use your favorite colors and themes from your Creative Cloud libraries which appear automatically in the color panel in Fresco. Tap on the color library of your choice and start applying the colors on your Fresco artwork. For more information, see Creative Cloud libraries in Fresco.

New touch shortcuts on Windows

You can now use touch shortcuts for layers on Windows devices, in addition to the existing shortcuts for tools. To trigger touch shortcut, tap the circle on the lower left of the screen.

Tap on the Help   icon > Touch Shortcut to view the list of supported tools, layers, and their corresponding actions. For more information on how to customize touch shortcuts, see Getting started with the user interface. 

Report a bug (on iOS only)

If you find any bugs while working with the Fresco app, you can now report the bugs from within the app. 

• Open a document, tap on the Help   icon, and tap Report a bug.

November 2019 release (version 1.1)

The November 2019 release of version 1.1 of Fresco has the following new features: 

Windows support

Adobe Fresco is now available on Windows. Fresco supports Microsoft Surface Studio with surface Pen on Windows 10. For a list of devices supported on Windows, see System requirements. For more information, see Adobe Fresco on Windows. 

Photoshop and Fresco interoperability

Work with your artworks seamlessly using Photoshop on desktop, Photoshop on iPad and Fresco across iOS and Windows platforms. 

You can work on your artwork in Adobe Fresco and Photoshop by seamlessly switching between these apps. Simply open the Adobe Fresco artwork from the Cloud documents option in the home screen of Photoshop (both desktop and iPad). And, when you are done editing in Photoshop, access your document from within Adobe Fresco using the Cloud documents option on the home screen. You can do all of this without importing or exporting your artwork. All you need is an Internet connection for your devices. For more information, see Adobe Fresco and Photoshop. 

Creative Cloud libraries

Paint with favorite colors and themes from your Creative Cloud libraries which appear automatically in the color panel. Tap on the color library of your choice and start applying the colors on your Fresco artwork. For more information, see Creative Cloud libraries in Fresco.
