End of life | Adobe Acrobat Reader Intune app for iOS and Android

To deliver the best experience, Adobe will discontinue support for the Adobe Acrobat Reader Intune mobile app on March 31, 2020. All customers must migrate to Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile app, which now supports Microsoft Intune, to continue working in Acrobat on the go.

With the new Acrobat Reader mobile app, you can now:

  • Easily collect actionable comments and feedback in a single PDF. It’s as easy as sending a link — enabled with full tracking and without the hassle of attachments.
  • Quickly add or change text and images, or reorder pages in PDF documents without needing the source file.
  • Track shared PDF documents, and know the instant they’re opened, downloaded, or shared.

What do IT admins need to do to enable the new app?

  • Verify that Adobe Acrobat Reader is targeted in App Protection Policy instead of Adobe Acrobat Reader Intune app. Microsoft will have automatically applied this targeting on behalf of customers that have previously targeted Adobe Acrobat Reader Intune.
  • Use Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of Adobe Acrobat Reader Intune app to assign Intune to end-user groups via the Client apps blade as available or required apps.
  • If end users are using locked-down devices in iOS supervised mode or Android fully managed devices, make sure end users have either been assigned Adobe Acrobat Reader for download or are not blocked from downloading apps in the Google Play (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).
