Issue: Unable to play Slideshow preview and videos with dual graphics card
|
Elements Organizer 2018, 2019, and 2020 |
Operating system |
Windows |
The following issues have been reported in Elements Organizer:
- When you click Create > Slideshow in Organizer, a black screen is displayed.
- When you play a video in Organizer, the video playback dialog box is grayed out.
The above issues occur when you have dual graphics cards on your system. To check for dual graphics cards, open Device Manager and click ‘Display adapters’. You can then view two graphics cards - the default Intel graphics card and a dedicated graphics card.
Solution: Update device drivers for both display and sound devices
-
Press Windows+R to open the Run dialog box on Windows.
-
Type devmgmt.msc and press OK button to open Device Manager.
-
Open ‘Display adapters’ tab.
-
Right click the non-Intel graphics card (usually Nvidia or AMD) and select Update driver.
-
(Optional) If you get the message "The best drivers for you are already installed", do the following:
- In the step above, select Uninstall device instead of Update driver
- Restart your system. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
-
Launch Elements Organizer.
