Solutions

Try the following solutions in the order listed below. After performing the steps for each solution, test to see if the issue has been resolved.

Solution 1: Update Lightroom Classic CC to the latest version

Make sure that you've updated Lightroom Classic CC to the latest version.

To check for and install the most current updates, see Keep Lightroom up to date.

Solution 2: Update your graphics driver

Download and install the most recent driver directly from your graphics card manufacturer's website.

Solution 3: Disable Direct2D

If you're using Lightroom Classic CC 7.1, follow these steps:

  1. Launch Lightroom Classic CC.
  2. Choose Edit > Preferences (Win) or Lightroom > Preferences (Mac) from the menu bar.
  3. In the Preferences dialog that appears, go the Performance tab.
  4. Deselect the Use Graphics Processor check box.
  5. Click OK.

(Lightroom Classic CC 7.0 and 7.0.1)

If you're using Lightroom Classic CC 7.0 or 7.0.1, follow these steps:

  1. Launch Lightroom Classic CC.
  2. Choose Edit > Preferences (Win) or Lightroom > Preferences (Mac).
  3. In the Preferences dialog, go the Presets tab.
  4. In the Presets tab, click the Show Lightroom Presets Folder button. The root preset folder opens in the File Explorer or Finder.
  5. Navigate to Lightroom folder.

  7. Relaunch Lightroom Classic CC.

The System Info dialog (Help > System Info) should display the config.lua flags entry as shown below:

Config.lua-Flags:
AgView.disableDirect2D = true

Solution 4: Associate sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Color profile on your system

The issue can occur in the grid view of the Library module due to a corrupt color profile.

For steps to change the color profile on Windows and Mac systems, see 'Solution 2: Associate sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Color profile on your system' documented in this article.
