Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat Pro with online services is the complete PDF solution for working with your most important documents across desktop, web, and mobile devices. Update your Acrobat desktop and mobile apps, or sign in to Acrobat online to experience the new features and improvements.

Note

To experience the new features immediately, update your Acrobat—on the Help menu, select Check for updates and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update process.

New in-app Acrobat help

You can now access how-to instructions, videos, tool tours, and more directly within Acrobat's newly integrated help section, eliminating the need to visit external web pages for assistance.

Note

This feature is rolled out as an experiment and isn't available to all users.

When you use the Edit tool and require assistance, select Help. A Help window appears, presenting a curated list of helpful articles.

Note

Currently, the in-app help is available for the Edit tool in old Acrobat only.

Select the topic relevant to your needs, and the Help window displays the necessary steps. If a video tutorial is available, you can select it for playback.

Revamped dialog for resolving AcroCEF/RdrCEF failure

Some crashes in Acrobat have been traced back to missing files that interfere with the operation of AcroCEF.exe/RdrCEF.exe processes. We've addressed this issue by enabling Acrobat to identify such cases. If such a problem is detected, a new dialog will prompt you to repair Acrobat. The updated dialog box now offers a repair option to fix the error and prevent further crashes.

Preference to set PDF/UA compliance in PDFMaker

Previously, ensuring compliance with ISO 14289 (PDF/UA) accessibility standards when converting PDFs from Microsoft® Excel or PowerPoint required an additional step. Users had to attach the PDF/UA ID using Preflight in Acrobat. However, in this release, we have introduced a new preference in the PDFMaker preferences, making it easier for you to set PDF/UA compliance while creating PDFs.

Improved crash reporting and log collection for Acrobat on macOS

Crashpad is now enabled in Crash Reporter for Adobe Acrobat on macOS. This allows for more comprehensive and detailed crash reports when issues occur in Adobe Acrobat.

Enhanced CPU optimization

This release includes optimizations to reduce CPU usage when the application is in an idle state, thus freeing up resources for other operations. It significantly improves application efficiency and overall device performance.
