How to disable the Content Finder "Full Repository View"

Symptoms

The Content Finder results take a long time when using the "Full Repository View".

Cause

The Content Finder (CF) has several tab for filtering the assets per type (images, documents, flash, pages, paragraphs, full repository view). The "Full repository view" is an expensive query, and should be used only if you can't find assets with the other CF tabs.

Resolution

Allow the full repository view only for a limited set of authors; this can be done by denying access to /libs/wcm/extensions/contentfinder/full.js :

• as admin user, open /libs/security/content/admin.html
• select the group or users for which you want to deny access to the full repository view
• click on "Page Permissions"
• browse to /libs/wcm/extensions/contentfinder/full.js
• deny Read pemission
• save
