AEM Mobile supports the production of apps that meet international accessibility standards as long as the app's content is produced as accessible HTML articles.
Browse pages, navigation, and other elements of the app support the accessibility features of each respective platform: iOS, Android, and Windows. Thus, if the guidelines referenced in the below "Content Accessibility" section are followed, the app will be accessible.
App users will be able to achieve the expected functions of the application using the platform’s assistive technology including the following features:
- Launching the app
- Viewing and navigating through browse pages
- Selecting and opening a collection or article card
- Reading an HTML article, assuming it has been properly tagged
- Navigating from article to article
- Signing into an account
- Purchasing a collection
HTML articles should conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. For techniques on how to achieve this, consult the W3C's HTML and XHTML Techniques for WCAG 2.0 document.
Fixed-layout articles that are created in InDesign or PowerPoint do not conform to accessibility guidelines. Only HTML articles can be compliant.
