Troubleshoot edit issue with .idjs files

Issue

InDesign isn't able to open an idjs (UXPScript) file.

Solution

When you double-click an idjs (UXPScript) file for the first time, you'll see an alert asking to associate UXPScript files with a text editor of your choice.

  1. Right-click any .idjs file.

  2. Select Get Info.

  3. Select Open With, and select an editor of your choice from the application list.

  4. If the text editor isn't visible in the list, select Other and select an editor from the Applications folder, and select Add.

    If the text editor is not available, select it from Applications folder.

  5. Select Change All > Continue.

  1. Right-click any .idjs file.

  2. Select Open With, and select an editor of your choice from the applications list.

    Select a text editor of your choice.

  3. If the text editor isn't visible in the list, select Choose another app, and if needed, select Look for another app on this PC

    If the text editor is not available, select choose another app.

  4. Navigate to the directory containing the editor and select.

  5. Check Always use this app to open .idjs files.
