Troubleshooting instructions to resolve issue with saving cloud documents in XD.


No action occurs or Error 50 error message appears when trying to create or save a cloud document in XD. 

Root cause

Creative Cloud Sync is not up to date or is not running correctly. 


Update Creative Cloud Sync by following the steps:

Verify Creative Cloud Sync version

In Creative Cloud, go to Preferences > Creative Cloud > Files.

Creative Cloud Sync version should be or later.

Verify Creative Cloud version

Restart Creative Cloud Sync

Restart your machine. If the problem persists, go to the next step. 

Execute Creative Cloud Sync update

  1. Exit from all Creative Cloud applications including Creative Cloud desktop app. 

  2. On Windows, go to the Task Manager and force-end all the Adobe related services.

    On macOS, go to Activity Monitor and force-end all Adobe relates services.

  3. Rename the following folder:

    • On Windows
      Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe and rename the folder to Adobe Sync-OLD.
    • On macOS
      Go to :~/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync and rename CoreSync to CoreSync-OLD.
  4. Launch Adobe Creative Cloud application and allow update process to happen.
