Graphics card driver updates can fix issues such as crashing and incorrectly rendered images, among other performance-related problems. Updating the graphics driver can fix these problems and improve performance.
Graphics drivers can be updated directly from the card manufacturer:
macOS
Graphics drivers are updated via macOS updates.
Windows
Windows updates may not provide the latest drivers. To install the latest drivers on Windows, go directly to your card manufacturer’s website and check for driver updates:
Note:
- Before downloading, check the driver is for your particular graphics card and computer. Notebook drivers may have a different name than similar desktop drivers.
- Some video adapter manufacturers have other software that requires updating in addition to the video driver. Read the update instructions carefully and contact the video adapter manufacturer directly for further information.
After installing the updates, restart the system and relaunch the application.
