How to add placeholder text

Adding placeholder text can help you to mock up your layouts and can help your clients envision the work-in-progress. You can easily replace it with the actual copy later.

Step 1 of 4

Create or select a text frame; make sure it is active with an insertion point in the frame.

Choose Type > Fill with placeholder text.

You can also add placeholder text to threaded, or linked frames.

To remove or replace placeholder text, double-click any frame in the thread, choose Edit > Select All, and then delete the text.
