Fancy a resume that’s fun but also surprisingly easy to read? Spruce up your CV with some interactivity and showcase your skills with personality using Adobe InDesign.

Open our sample resume or use your own. We started with the 800 x 600 Web Preset in InDesign, and then built up the four-page resume with text and graphics.

Select the Digital Publishing Workspace at the top of the Application Frame to keep all the interactive controls at your fingertips, and then open the Properties panel (Window > Properties).

Make it easy for your reader to navigate your CV — both within the document and externally. We added hyperlinks for easy access to email, social channels, and our website. To add a hyperlink, select any text or object and click New Hyperlink under Quick Actions in the Properties panel. Specify the type of link, destination, and so on.

Hyperlinks are added for email addresses and websites by selecting text, clicking New Hyperlink, and specifying link type.

We used the same technique to link to corresponding pages.

Think of unique ways to communicate your skills freed from a traditional printed format. We added a compact video to show off a special talent. Click Import File in the Properties panel and choose a video. Click to place it on the page or drag a frame for the video. Now you can set up additional options in the Media panel. We played the video and chose a different poster frame.

A video is added to the résumé by selecting Import File from the Properties panel.

With your resume ready, publish it so it can be viewed in a browser on any device — with the rich experience intact. Click Publish Online at the top. Add a title and description and click Publish. 

Tip: Check the box to allow viewers to download a print version of your resume.

The edited résumé is published for web by selecting Publish Online. PDF copy may be downloaded by clicking box.
