This technical integration guide is intended for Adobe Consultants, Adobe Partners, and other experienced implementation specialists. Configuring this integration requires a full understanding of the implementation process for each individual solution covered in this guide.
Adobe customers can contact Adobe Professional Services or an Adobe Partner to learn more about this integration.
Option #1: Adobe Campaign and Target integration
Option #2: Offers in Adobe Campaign emails coming from Target recommendations using Rawbox
Target can track the following data:
- User agent
- IP address
- Geographical location
- Segment associated with the visitor's ID in Target (subject to legal approval)
- Data from Campaign Datamart
There are several limitations:
- Because only an image can be used, content cannot be personalized
- Tracking is not consolidated in Adobe Campaign
- No unified user experience
- You must use both Target and Campaign to set up different parts of the integration:
- The rawbox and the experience in Target
- The delivery in Campaign
- The rawbox and the experience in Target
In order to use the integration between Adobe Campaign and Adobe Target, you must have:
- Adobe Marketing Cloud and Adobe Target tenants
- An Adobe Target rawbox specified to establish the connection with Adobe Campaign

Settings Adobe Campaign
- Note: Adobe Campaign must have connection to Internet.
- Follow the instructions from the Adobe Campaign Help section
- Configure Adobe Campaign - Target integration under Administration > Platform > Options
- Do not change the TNT_EdgeServer value, it is already set by default and correct
- Set only the TNT_TenantName to Target Clientcode.

Nota:
Only after adding the TNT_TenantName the menu "Dynamic image server by Adobe Target" is available.

Set the default image when timeout occurs or server not available and the name of the rawbox. Passing parameter is optional and can be used for targeting or to be passed in the Scene 7 URL.

You will see redirect to for the adbox_click only if the a href adbox call type is changed from ubox/raw? to ubox/page?
With redirector the mboxSession will be set when clicking on the link and redirected to the given URL.
Case 1: optimize image through conversion - all experiences redirect to the same URL in acRawbox_click

Case 2: optimize image and keep same experience - every experience redirect to different URL in acRawbox_click

mboxHost=Preview is set on sending proofs and preview. This setting is to separate production from staging and dev for reporting. Check the settings under Target Configurations > Hosts and move Preview to the right host group.

Creating Redirect Offers with the given images and URLs
Under Content create Redirect Offers for the Images

Create offer for the redirect to the landing page. In Target Standard Form Composer we do not have the possibility to enter the URL directly, it must be wrapped in Redirect offer and the mbox session id must be passed.

Case 1: optimize image through conversion - all experiences redirect to the same URL in acRawbox_click

Case 2: optimize image and keep same experience - every experience redirect to different URL in acRawbox_click

Mbox Host
mboxHost=Preview is set on sending proofs and preview. This setting is to separate production from staging and dev for reporting. Check the settings under Setup > Hosts and move Preview to the right host group.

Check the Mbox/Adbox Type
This setting does not exist in Target Standard.

mboxHost | MBOX_HOST | Preview | Separate Target Production from Development reporting Set only when Preview in Adobe Campaign and Sending proof, otherwise nothing Settings under Target > > Configurations > Hosts, move it right host group |
Generate mboxPC and mboxSession UNIQUE_ID_PER_EMAIL

Tracking Conversion
- Clicking on Image in the Email: http://XXXX.com/jjesquire/list.html?mboxSession=79002&mboxPC=79002
- Landing Page: mboxSession and mboxPC are set on the first call to Target

3. Going to Order confirmation the same values for mboxSession and mboxPC remain. The visitor is identified through the journey.

Personalizing image in Target Redirect Offer with Scene7
Example Scene7 image: http://s7g3.scene7.com/is/image/AdobeDACHSC/kfzschild?$schildtext=$
Adding parameter to Scene7: http://s7g3.scene7.com/is/image/AdobeDACHSC/kfzschild?$schildtext=$munich
In the redirect offer add a Scene7 URL and add the parameter available in Target user.currentCountry with the syntax ${user.currentCountry}

Concerns / questions (recommendations integration)
Q: Is there documentation on how to integrate Recommendations within Email?
A: Integrating Recommendations with Email
To configure Adobe Campaign:
- Install the Integration with the Adobe Marketing Cloud standard package. Installing an integration package is the same as installing a standard package, which is detailed in the Package Import section. This gives you access to the shared assets via Digital Asset Manager.
- Enable connection via IMS (Adobe ID connection service) to use images shared via Adobe Marketing Cloud in your emails. Consult the section about IMS.
- In Administration > Platform > Options, configure the server and Tenant options for Adobe Target:
- TNT_EdgeServer: Adobe Target server used for the integration. This option is already selected by default. This value corresponds to the Adobe Target Domain Server, followed by the value /m2. For example: tt.omtrdc.net/m2.
- TNT_TenantName: Adobe Target Tenant name. This value corresponds to the name of the Adobe Target Client.

Creating Adobe Campaign workflow responsible for:
- Making API call to Recs for specific campaign
- Getting CSV file for recommended Products with Product ids
- Connect Product Ids with Product information (e.g. name, description, price)
- Connect Product data with own look and feel for each item
Put the data in the Email
- Note: No direct tracking of performance under Visitors as the call to Recs is made once for downloading the file
- Recs server cannot track the performance of Recs or split traffic across algorithm/template combination
