What you'll need
Note: Syncing to Lightroom CC on the desktop and the web requires a Lightroom CC trial or a paid Adobe Creative Cloud membership. See how to Set up Lightroom for sync.
Collections are like photo albums. They are a useful way to organize your Lightroom library into smaller groups. In Lightroom for mobile, you can add photos to collections from your Lightroom library and your camera roll. Any photo can be in more than one collection.
Open Lightroom on your mobile device and sign in with your Adobe ID. Tap plus (+) to create a collection. Name it, and tap OK.
Note: The screenshots in this tutorial show Lightroom on an iPhone. The user interface may vary between iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
Tap a collection to open it. Tap Add Photos to add photos from the camera roll on your device or from Lightroom. To capture a new photo with your device and add it directly to the collection, tap the camera icon, and then tap the shutter button to take the photo. Tap the X at the top left when you are finished.
You can copy photos from one collection to another and still keep the photos in the original collection. With a collection open, tap the three dots and choose Copy To. Then tap one or more photos and tap the right arrow at the top of the screen. Select the destination collection and tap the checkmark to complete the copy.
Note: If you select Move To, the photos will be removed from the original collection and placed in the new one.
You can remove photos from a collection and still keep them in your Lightroom catalog. With a collection open, tap the three dots and select Remove. Then tap one or more photos, tap the trash can at the top of the screen, and tap Remove.
All changes you make in Lightroom for mobile are reflected in Lightroom on your desktop and the web. In Lightroom on the desktop, collections that sync from your device appear in the Collections panel in a collection set called From Lr mobile. In Lightroom on the web, they appear in the Collections section. Any changes you make in the desktop or web version are synced to mobile as well.
