Text becomes garbled when editing scanned PDF in Acrobat.

Cause

OCR tries to check for the nearest available fonts available on the system.

Resolution

1. Open the PDF in Acrobat.
   
2. Go to All Tools > Edit a PDF.
3. In left panel, select Settings   and then select More settings.
   
4.  Deselect Use available system font.
5.  Select OK.
   

Once the OCR process has finished, editing the PDF does not result in garbled text.
