How do I deploy a ruleset file? How quickly are ruleset file changes reflected?

Solution

A ruleset is an XML file. To deploy, do the following:

1. Upload the ruleset file (XML file) to SPS.
2. Configure the ruleset file in SPS by choosing Setup > Application Setup > Publish Setup > Image Server > Ruleset Definition file path. Select  the option labeled "Select ruleset uploaded above," and then click Save.
3. Run an Image Server publish job.

After these three steps are performed, the ruleset conditions are applied on the requests to the live Scene7 Image Servers.

How quickly are ruleset file changes reflected?

The changes can be applied as soon as the ruleset is published. After making the udpate, reupload it and run Publish.

When publish completes, the changes are Live.
