Fill and sign forms
Learn to fill and sign PDF forms by adding text, checkmarks, and signatures in Acrobat.
Fill text fields in PDF forms
Select the field where you want to add text. A text field appears along with a text box menu.
Type text in the field or drag a signature or initials from the E-sign panel.
Select the text box and make any necessary changes.
If needed, hover over the text box’s border until the cursor changes and move it to the desired position.
Select the larger or smaller text size options from the text box menu to change the text size.
Select Choose a color for type text from the Quick action toolbar to change the text color.
To change the text spacing from normal to combed, select the options menu from the text box menu and select Character spacing.
Add crossmarks or checkmarks to PDF forms
Select E-Sign.
Select Add a crossmark or Add a checkmark
Select the spot on the document where you want to add the checkmark or crossmark.
Fill in interactive forms
Interactive forms have highlighted fields, such as text fields, checkboxes, or radio buttons, from which you can select or fill in information.
Select the highlighted field in the form. An I-beam or hand-sign replaces the pointer.
Enter your information in the text field or select radio buttons and checkboxes to fill in the fields.
Press Tab to move forward or Shift + Tab to move backward in the form fields.
Save the completed form or select Send to submit the form.
